Today was a day spent in Limbo. We found out last night that Princess, Pork Chop’s cousin, had a high fever and might have been exposed to H1N1A (Swine Flu). Porkchop had spent a lot of time with her over the past weekend, therefore he had to stay home from school and I from work. One thing that I discovered is that without clear organization and a specific plan for the day, nothing gets done! When I found out that we had to be home today, I planned on working in the morning and letting Pork Chop watch a movie. After the movie was over we would work on school assignments for him.
Those to parts of my day that I planned out actually happened. I did accomplish a few other house cleaning tasks such as sweep the wood floors and mopping the tile in the guest bathroom and the laundry room. These two tasks took only about 30 minutes. The rest of the day was spent Twittering writing in my Facebook and playing with Pork Chop.
Now I agree that it was time well spent hanging out with Pork Chop and he will remember the good time we had, but I could have done a few more things and still had a quality day with him. This story does have a happy ending. Princess did not have H1N1A, thank God! She was just sick. So tomorrow I am back to the office and Pork Chop will be back at school.
