I was at the gym yesterday getting my 30 minutes of exercise in when I noticed a man next to me with a very nice watch on. About 3 years ago Mama gave me a very nice watch that she paid around $150 – $300 for. It has a broken link and even though it is water proof to 10 meters it got wet in the pool and now has moisture in the face of it! The funny thing is that when I get a nice watch like that it seems to break or somehow stop working. But if I go to Target and buy a $10 watch it will last forever! I guess that is Murphy’s Law at work : )
So when I came home I started looking at watches online. I found a really nice casio pathfinder watch at Blue Dial.
My favorite was a Movado diving watch. I am a “wanna-be” diver. I received my open water diver certification about 3 years ago, but have never used it in the ocean! What a shame!
But at a bit under $1000 that watch is probably not going to happen anytime soon!
As a stay at home Dad I guess I do not really need a nice watch for every day use, but it would be nice to have one for dates and special events. I do not wear much jewelry. I wear my wedding ring all of the time, but other than that I just do not think of accessories.
All of the watches, especially the nice ones, that I have ever had have been gifts. They are a great gift! If you are reading this post, Mama, that is a great 20 year anniversary gift! ( this April is our 16th year married! )
I am off to work on getting Christmas decorations down!
