shrll 035 MMM! Chick Pot Pie. I am not sure what we needed comforting from yesterday, but when I looked up easy chicken recipes this is what came up!

From start to finish it only took 60 minutes and 40 minutes of that was boiling chicken and cooking the pie in the oven.

Here is the recipe:

This week has been a lot more productive for me. I have organized my to do lists with Google Tasks.

I have multiple lists maintained to organize my different organizations. Here are the lists:

  • Kids Activities – stuff that the Kids need to do
  • MyTasks – things like change the oil , grocery list needs
  • Scouts – my to do list for our Cub Scout Pack
  • Work – Work to do list
  • Today – I move items that I need to do today to this list form the others

This method has allowed me to get more things done and not be so overwhelmed!

See ya!

Pasties…

Pastees 007

Let me start by giving you two definitions of Pasties from Wikipedia.org

  Pasties (What you think)

Pasties (sing. ‘pastie’[citation needed] or ‘pasty’) are adhesive coverings applied to cover a person’s ….

Pasty (Better then the other, at least in the kitchen!)

A pasty (pronounced /ˈpæsti/ (the ‘a’ pronounced as in ‘cat’), Cornish: Hogen; Pasti), known in (West) Cornish dialect as teddy oggy/oggin or tiddy oggy/oggin,[1][2] and sometimes as pastie in the United States,[3][4] is a filled pastry case, commonly associated with Cornwall in the United Kingdom.

And with that clarification , let me proceed!

Good afternoon everyone! Last week my wife looked at her plate and said, “Spaghetti again…”

Apparently my food is redundant! She is right. It is. So I created a new menu this week filled with wonderful new dishes for the family. I will write a post every night this week with a new recipe.

I took this recipe from www.favfamilyrecipes.com .

It looked like a simple recipe that the kids would eat. I served it with some green beans, once again because the kids would eat it!

I think next time I might add some corn in the mix to make it even better! We will see.

See everyone soon!

wings

OMG! I am sitting here enjoying a popsicle because my lips are burning! Saturday we barbequed with our friends and neighbors and I made my hot wing recipe. I must have been mad because they were so hot that hardly anyone could eat more than 4 of them! So here is the recipe:

1 – 24oz bottle of Louisiana Hot Sauce

1 – Bottle of Tabasco

1 – Tablespoon of Garlic Powder

1 – Tablespoon of Ketchup

White Wine Vinegar

5 lbs of Chicken Wings

1. Fry the wings in a cooking oil until crisp and medium brown

2. Drain the wings on paper towels when they come out of the fryer

3. Pout Louisiana Hot Sauce, Tabasco, Garlic and Ketchup into a medium sauce pan and bring to a boil.

4. Reduce to a simmer, add vinegar if needed

5. Put 5 or 6 wings in a container with a lid and add sauce to the container, shake vigorously to cover the wings completely and place in a warming dish in the oven

6. Once all the wings are coated pour remaining of sauce over the top of the wings.

Enjoy the burn!!!!!

arroz-con-leche-iiGood morning! This morning I encountered an old nemesis, Arroz con Leche.  If you are not familiar with the Mexican traditions it is the same thing as rice pudding. It is Very delicious. The problem is that I hardly ever make it correctly. The rice is either burned or not quite done and Skeeter loves Arroz con Leche.  Today I got it right!

Here is the recipe.

  • 4 Cups Water
  • 2 Cups Mahatma Rice
  • 1 Tbs. Vanilla Extract
  • 2 Cups sugar
  • 1 Cinnamon Stick
  • 2 Tbs. Cinnamon Powder
  • 2 cups 1% milk
  • 1 tsp oil
  1. Add water, oil and cinnamon stick to medium saucepan and bring to boil
  2. Add rice and cook until water is almost gone on Medium temp.
  3. Add milk, sugar (or sugar replacement) and vanilla. Cook 8 minutes stirring frequently
  4. Remove from heat and cover for 10 minutes.
  5. Serve hot with a bit of cold milk and cinnamon sprinkled on top.

Enjoy!
