Over the past 7 days I have managed to lose another 1.5 pounds. Not tremendous but slow and steady. This is not on track with my goal of 30 pounds by April first, but I would rather miss the April goal and keep off the weight than to lost the weight really quick and get it all back within six month!

You can see the chart and data for my weight loss here.

My diet is not totally stringent. I am simply eating 6 times per day, but when I eat a meal I eat smaller portions and my snacks are health snacks such as this Orange with chili lime salt on it.

My exercise program is simple treadmill work. I do 30 minutes on the treadmill. I started today to track my times. I will post the spreadsheet when I get a weeks worth of data.

Watch my Tweets for updates while at the gym!

Big to Slim! Well I am not there yet, but I did manage to shave off a couple of pounds last week. On Friday when I weighed in I lost another 4 pounds, so I am down to 206. This is of course buck naked and after a visit to the throne! ( I am sure you all loved the visual on that one!)

I have been going to 24 Hour Fitness and doing 30 minutes on the treadmill. I am trending upwards doing about 2 miles in 30 minutes which is weak I know. My goal is to do 3 miles in 30 minutes by Feb 10th.

My diet has been good, except over the past weekend. I have been eating light and having healthy snacks between meals.

My soda intake is down about 2 per week. Speaking of which I am craving a diet coke now!

I have actually found that when I get hungry if I will brush my teeth it helps.  I think it gets any food particles out of my mouth and makes me forget about eating.

Onward I charge! 30 Pounds. April 1st.

Fat Pictures

Everyone loves the Holidays! We all over indulge in food of all sorts! For us family meals are huge breakfasts! Eggs, bacon, sausage, ham, fresh homemade tortillas, hot sauce and sometimes more! We spent a week with family eating, laughing, drinking and having a great time.

I hunted birds with my sons. Rode the four-wheeler and enjoyed. We took a ton of pictures!  I loaded the camera memory card into my laptop and eagerly take a look.TurkeyVacation2-006

The kids are so cute! They had a great time and then I ran into this picture of myself from behind.  Ouch! I knew I had a belly. I knew I had love handles, but seeing this picture I realized that I was very overweight and that it was time to get it under control.

Today I started a health eating program for myself and the family.  I will still once per week cook something new and inevitably fattening, but for the most part I am going to load the family up with a healthy diet.

The sad part is that I know how to eat. I have an account at My Calorie Counter where I will track my food intake.

Tomorrow I will weigh in and measure my fat!

I am out!

Yesterday morning I had a septoplasty. The septum is the piece of cartilage that separates the nostrils. Mine was deviated and was restricting my breathing. So my doctor went in a peeled back the skin in my nose and cut a piece of my cartilage out and straightened it out. This is not what a Rhinoplasty which is done from the outside so did not have any bruising from the outside. > I feel generally good today without much pain. I am just biding my time right now. I

Septoplasty, GROSS!!!

can’t eat anything solid for 5 days. So I am a soup and mashed potato sort of guy! The packing comes out of my nose on Tuesday! Let me tell you that I cannot wait for that. I will finally get to breath right. You can see a video on YouTube of a surgery like mine.

Mama is now tasked with running Skeeter and Pork Chop around to soccer, swimming parties and a graduation today. What fun! I will be glad when I am back up and running so that I can help out again and get to moving on my projects!

Os-v-Angels-17 Elation is the best word that the Machine Pitch Orioles and parents felt last night as we won our first game! We had lost all five of our previous games. Tonight however we came out of the bull pen swinging! We played an exceptional game! Skeeter played first base and made some good plays and got a hit every at bat! I am so proud of my little Skeeter.

To put this in context you have to understand that 4 years ago when he started in t-ball he was scared of the ball. He would run from it. He could not catch the ball in the air until the end of his second year of t-ball. Now he is playing a key position and doing well and batting like a pro. The nice thing about this game is that everyone hit the ball. There were two kids on the team that could not get the bat on the ball.

Tonight however both of those boys hit and both scored. To say the least I cannot say enough about sports and other activities in our kids lives. Teaching kids good sportsmanship, how to win graciously and how to be a good loser are all important lessons in life. Kids need to experience these emotions at a young age. Life is full of wins and losses, they might as well get used to it.

Of note, during my daily read I found this article which talks about a school banning high fives! The article is a little bit biased and rhetorical, but is an interesting read for anyone who is into sports. Read the article here.

Good Day!
