To put this in context you have to understand that 4 years ago when he started in t-ball he was scared of the ball. He would run from it. He could not catch the ball in the air until the end of his second year of t-ball. Now he is playing a key position and doing well and batting like a pro. The nice thing about this game is that everyone hit the ball. There were two kids on the team that could not get the bat on the ball. Tonight however both of those boys hit and both scored. To say the least I cannot say enough about sports and other activities in our kids lives. Teaching kids good sportsmanship, how to win graciously and how to be a good loser are all important lessons in life. Kids need to experience these emotions at a young age. Life is full of wins and losses, they might as well get used to it. Of note, during my daily read I found this article which talks about a school banning high fives! The article is a little bit biased and rhetorical, but is an interesting read for anyone who is into sports. Read the article here. Good Day! |
